Dear Dave,
In one of your back issues I believe November or December of 95 you had
a subscriber asking for information for a hot start problem with his 1977 Corvette.
I was also having the same problem… actually for the past 11 years. Seems
everyone had a solution but seems none of them applied to my car.
You mentioned a company called MG Industries. They make a product called
Mean Green Starters. You mentioned that you were going to get one of these
starters and field-test it and let us all know how god or bad this starter
was. I called them as soon as I saw your article and purchased one. Well I
can save you the field test. Their starters are MEAN!
I had my doubts, since I've tried other starters in the past but I have
to say... "THIS IS THE BEST STARTER GOING."
I just found the time to install it and it absolutely; positively 100%
corrected my hat start problems. I can't believe how easy my Vetter starts
now and I ran it for a couple of hours. Usually after 10 minutes of running
it won't start and I have to sit and wait for the cool down... NO MORE... I
can't tell you how well this starter works.
I also have to say that MG Industries also has very knowledgeable and caring
people that stand by their product 100%. I spoke with Paul for MG Industries
and he was able to steer me in the right direction from purchasing the correct
starter for my car to trouble shooting my problems to installation.
I would recommend this product to all that have a hot start problem or any
starting problem with their Corvette or any vehicle for that matter. Remember
the hot weather is on it's way and I know for sure that I won't be one of those
Vette owners sitting for the cool down and longer thanks to MG Industries!!!
